Dove, Janet, African Super Wax Made as Nigeria, fiber, no visible signature, good condition, size: 24.25 x 24.25 inches. Janet Dove is a quilter whose quilts have won design and quilting awards on both national and state levels. In addition, many of her quilts have been featured in national quilting magazines and two miniature quilt pattern books. She has had quilts juried into two major quilting events – International Quilt Festival, Houston and the American Quilter’s Society Annual Show, Paducah, KY. She also won Best of Show at the Kansas State Fair as well as several other first place awards from the Fair. Most recently she had three quilts juried into the 2019 Shipshewana IN Quilt FestivalArtist’s Statement: My work is a combination of traditional and contemporary quilting. I quilt because of the range of expression I can achieve. The ordered patchwork provides endless opportunity for movement, energy, color and texture that emerge from simple cotton cloth.Janet has lectured, taught quilting and presented quilt programs across the country.
