Description
Fourshe, Patric (1935-2008) 1984 acrylic on canvas, Color is only Skin Deep, signed Fourshe in lower right, good condition, canvas size: 38 x 48 inches. Born in Detroit in 1944, Patric was an artist as early as he could hold a pencil (and likely before that). In the 1960s he won a scholarship to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts for packaging design. He tried various art studios and ad agencies before settling into Center for Creative Studies in Detroit as a Professor of Graphic Communication, and as a design professional. He was there for 27 years. In 1998, he was hired to take over the graphics area at Hillsdale College’s Department of Art and worked there until his untimely death in 2008. During all of his life, he was a practicing artist, working with paint media and then digital. In 1992, he moved in the countryside near Pittsford, and this is where his daughter, Kiersten (also an artist in this gallery) and her family live today.
