Knutson, Michael, oil on canvas, Bison with Thick Paint, signed Michael Knutson in lower left, good condition, canvas size: 24.25 x 30.25 inches. Michael Kent Knutson is an artist, educator, and art activist whose multi-media practice spans diverse media and themes. He currently serves as Professor of 2-D Art at Garden City Community College in southwestern Kansas and sits on the board of Garden City Arts.

The son of two art educators, Knutson grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota, where his deep connection to nature first took root. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Black Hills State University and his MFA from Fort Hays State University. Proceeds from the auctioning of this lot will be donated to benefit the Red Barn Studio Museum.
