Description
Aguilar, Robert, Santo Domingo Pueblo Pottery, large black on black jar, signed on bottom, good condition, no chip, cracks, or scratches, minimum wear on jar lib, jar size: 18.5 x 13 x 13 inches. Robert Aguilar was born in 1968 and has been actively potting since the 1970’s. Robert is the nephew of Rafaelita Aguilar and he makes pottery in the Aguilar family tradition. Roberts work reflects the use of natural clays, mineral paints and traditional kiln firing. He creates large Polychrome or Black on Black Jars Ollas and bowls using natural clay and mineral spirits. His work is classic in form design & style. This jar is a Hand coiled storage jar with Corn Stalk designs around the perimeter. It is Fired outdoors and finished with natural pigments.
Condition: good condition, no chips, cracks, or scratches, some wear on jar lip
