Arko, Jordi, untitled barns, color lithograph 19/91, pencil signed in lower right, good condition, image size: 6.5 x 6.5 inches. Jordi Georges Ernest Ark?, born on 21 May 1951 in Stockholm, is a prominent Swedish artist with roots in Dalarna. He has dedicated his life to the arts and has an impressive educational and career history. Ark? studied at Stockholm University between 1971 and 1974, and then continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm from 1975 to 1980.During his career, Jordi Ark? has had a significant presence in the art world. He was an active lecturer at the Royal College of Art from 1980 to 1993 and also taught at the Dublin National College of Art and Design between 1990 and 1993. In 2003, he served as artistic director for Grafikens Hus in Mariefred. He has also acted as an art consultant in Dalarna and lives outside Mora.His solo exhibitions have taken place at well-known places such as Galerie Doktor Glas, Konstn?rshuset and Liljevalchs in Stockholm, Sketch Museum in Lund, Sigtuna museum, Kunsthallen Nikolaj in Copenhagen, as well as international places such as Raumo in Finland, Center Culturel Su?dois in Paris, Altes Museum in Berlin and the Bryggen Museum in Bergen.His artistic creation has included a variety of forms of expression and techniques. As a graphic artist, he has impressed with his technical skill and his unique storytelling ability. His major project of illustrating Frans G. Bengtsson’s work "Red Snake" led to the creation of hundreds of lithographs and images that enchant the viewer with their story and richness of detail.Jordi Ark?’s diverse contribution to the Swedish art scene spans several decades, and his artistic efforts have been internationally recognized and awarded prizes. He has not only influenced generations of artists through his teaching roles but has also enriched the art world with his unique and multifaceted artworks.
