Max Ebaugh (1918-2013) untitled Native American bust, 1990 ceramic, signed in loiwer back, good condition, no chips or cracks, sculpture size: 11.25 x 7.5 x 9 inches. Max was born on December 4, 1918, in rural McPherson County, KS. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1936 and served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945. Max is most remembered for being a talented artist. He had dabbled in art when he was a young man, but became serious about woodcarving in the 1960s. He branched from there to etchings, acrylic painting and sculpture. He taught others interested in sculpture in his garage. He continued painting until two years before his death.
