This glass vase by artist Vernon Brejcha measures 12" tall and 5" in diameter. It is in good condition and is unsigned. Winning bids are packaged and shipped by UPS. Shipping estimates are available upon request. Brejcha, Vernon Lee. b. Ellsworth, Jan. 30, 1942. Grew up in Holyrood. Attended Fort Hays State Univ. completing his undergraduate degree in 1964 and a Masters of Science in 1967. Brejcha taught art at Circle High School in Towanda before studying glass and earning his MFA at the Univ. of Wisconsin in 1972 under Harvey K. Littleton. From 1969-72, while working on his MFA, he taught at Edgewood College in Madison, WI. In 1972, Brejcha took a position as Assistant Prof. of Art at Tusculum College in Greenville, TN then returned to Kansas in 1976, to open the glass program at the Univ. of Kansas, Lawrence. Brejcha directed the glass program at KU from 1976 to 1991, 49 when it was closed. From 1991-2001, he was a ceramics instructor in KU’s School of Fine Arts. In 2001, Brejcha was one of three artists selected to represent the United States at the International Exhibition of Glass in Kauazawa, Japan, and was chosen to represent Kansas at the American Craft Odyssey at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
