Shane, Fred (1906-1992) – "Farm in the Rockies" lithograph, 1940 is in good condition, image size is 7.5" x 11.75". Frederick E. Shane was a noted Missouri regionalist artist and member of the faculty of the Department of Art at the University of Missouri-Columbia (ca 1932-1971). His personal papers are in the archives of the University of Missouri, and these documents relate to such topics as the exhibit and sale of his paintings, his work for the United States Army during World War II, the design and painting of a mural for the Post Office in Eldon, Missouri, information concerning the Department of Art during Shanes tenure as Chairman, records relating to the publication of a book of his paintings, and biographical and financial documents. While the Raymer Society makes every effort to offer authentic, original artwork it is ultimately the bidders responsible for assessing and determining the work of art’s authenticity, condition and quality before purchasing.
