This original woodcarving of a Swedish Tomte with music box by Lindsborg artist, Norman Malm (1928-2011) is in excellent condition and signed by the artist in the bottoom. It measures 9.75" tall by 2.75" x 2.75". Malm was talented woodcarver, painter and cartoonist who took over Anton Pearson’s studio, his father-in-law. Malm was a perfect fit for continuing the studio. When asked where Malm’s cartoon muse came from, his wife Rosemary answered, "His heart, his head and his wicked personality!" Tomtes, mythical Scandinavian figures, were another one of Malm’s signature icons. He worked in various woods, pine being his favorite. Norman, was known for his wit, welcoming nature and contributing his talents to Lindsborg.
