This etching by Phyllis Joos is titled "Flower Market A/P" is signed and dated 1996 in the lower right and measures 7" x 11" and is in good condition. Joos is an artist based out of Hancock, Minnesota, whose themes come from her life and relate to women, aging and the â€œintricate interaction between human life and nature, â€ according to her artist statement. â€œEach print is a process of discovery and exploration of the world around life cycles, journeys, rituals, ceremonies and me.â€

Joos works in a number of printmaking processes but prefers etching, which reflect the permanence of mark-making similar to petroglyphs. Her pieces are often in colorful palettes with multiple layers and textures.
