Two etchings, top etching depicts the sun, moon and a star and measures 4.75"x2.875" and is numbered 58/90. The bottom etching depicts a wizard, measures 2.75"x4.875" and is numbered 7/90. Each etching is pencil signed "Beckwith" in lower left. Joel Beckwith (b. 1949, America) is a graphic artist and printmaker known for sensitive and revealing figurative depictions of characters which he creates and which represent ‘Humankind’. Beckwith graduated cum laude in Art in 1971 from Bowdoin College where he studied drawing with Thomas Cornell. His work has been included in numerous exhibitions including the Smithsonian Institution’s traveling exhibition "American Drawings III", The Society of American Graphic Artists, The Boston Printmakers National Exhibition and the Miami International Print Biennial. His work can be found in public and private collections including: Philadelphia Museum, the Birmingham (AL) Museum of Art, New York University Medical School, National Institutes of Health and the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
