"Saddle Tramp" 15/20 is a bronze on wood base done by Laurence Coffelt, in good condition, stamped "L. Coffelt" on cast base, and measuring 14.75x9x8.5. Total dimensions are 16.25x15x8.56. Laurence Coffelt (1910-1976) was well known for his paintings and sculptures of western and outdoor themes. He owned and operated the Coffelt Sign Company in Emporia, KS, from 1949 until 1961, and specialized in the building of neon signs. In 1960 he signed up for the 3-year course from the Famous Artists correspondence school. He also went to Wyoming and studied with Conrad Schweiering and Grant Hagen. After 1961, he continued his work as an artist and his works have been sold by a number of galleries around the country. He has been featured in western-themed exhibitions, and in the collections of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
