Uchytil, Reiko, untitled rabbits, 2019 ceramic, the reading rabbit is signed on back, rabbit with wire is signed on foot, good condition, no chips or cracks, size: reading rabbit: 11.5 x 4 x 3.25 inches, rabbit with wire: 9.5 x 3 x 4 inches. Unchytil’s journey with clay has been a life long one, she is a second-generation artist and grew up in a potters studio. Unchytil studied under master ceramicists, Miky and the late Steve Cunningham (Aka Mom and Dad). She began doing shows in 2012 as an emerging artist at the Des Moines Arts Festival. She studied at the University of Iowa, receiving a BA in Health and Human Physiology, Psychology, and a minor in Dance. But through it all she maintained her passion and love for art, particularly ceramics. She continues to eplore the endless possibilities and versatility of clay. Uchytil asserts that she is not a potter but an artist. Clay is Uchytil’s vehicle of choice to transport her imagination into the physical world.
