Malm, Alba (1897-1986) 1980 Winter in Kansas & 1982 Winter Sunset, pair of watercolors, signed in lower right, good condition, not examined out of frame, image sizes: 4.5. x 6.25 inches each. Alba Malm (1897-1986) was born Lindsborg, Kansas, 1897 and died in Lindsborg, 1986. Alba Malm Almquist was a painter and craftswoman. She received a B.A. degree from Bethany College, Lindsborg where she was a pupil of Birger Sandzen and her father, GN Malm.She did graduate work at the University of Kansas, Lawrence on a science scholarship and taught for many years in schools in and around Lindsborg.Some of Alba’s work is signed “Dahlquist” because she was married to ? She divorced Dahlquist and later in life married Almquist.
