Description
Bassett-Hall, Norma (1889-1957) Cottage in Skye, ca 1930, color woodcut, pencil signed in lower right, good condition, image size: 7 x 9.5 inches. A graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, Norma Bassett Hall reigns from Oregon. Bassett-Hall was the only woman charter member of the Prairie Printmakers, paving the way for women printmakers who would join the elite group. Norma established a reputation exclusively with color prints. She learned and mastered Asian printing and color techniques to reflect her wide travels from Kansas farms, Oregon landscapes, European scenes, and New Mexico pueblos. Norma was a member of Printmakers Society of California; Northwest Printmakers; Prairie Print Makers (Charter Member).
